• The government is committed to provide markets to rural artisans for their national and international exposure. Inaugurating the sixth Shishir Saras Mela at Dilli Haat in New Delhi, Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh said the government will provide space to the self help groups at the big airports in the country to sell their valuable products. 
  • He said that providing markets to the products of the skilled rural artisans remains the most important challenge for the centre and the state governments. 
  • An official release said, Mr. Ramesh asked the Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology to organize Saras Melas in metro cities. 
  • He said it will give opportunities to the rural artisans to market their products throughout the year.
