• The Kashmir Valley continues to be cut off from rest of the country owing to the season's heavy snowfall. AIR Srinagar correspondent reports that even though there was no let up in the snowfall, Met Office has predicted improvement in the weather from this evening.
  • Himachal Pradesh is also experiencing snowfall due to easterly winds sweeping the state. The Met Department has predicted heavy snowfall in the state during the next 24 hours.
  • A high alert has been sounded in Kullu, Shimla, Chamba, Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts following the prediction of the snowfall. Authorities have advised people in these areas to remain indoors. 
  • Meanwhile, fresh snowfall and intermittent rain have hampered normal life in Uttarakhand today. Vehicular traffic on the Rishikesh- Gangotri and Rishikesh-Badrinath Highways has been disrupted. Road blockades at different places following the inclement weather have also affected the electioneering in the State. 
  • Overnight rains due to western disturbances lashed the Delhi and its adjoining areas. The rain, which started around 11 pm on jan 15 night, measured 4.2 milimetre till this morning. 
  • The minimum temperature was recorded at 10.5 degree celcius, which was 3 degrees above the normal while the maximum on Sunday settled at 25.6 degrees Celsius.
  • The MeT department has predicted foggy morning for Tuesday with temperature oscillating between 10 and 21 degree celsius.
