• M.S. Dhoni will miss the Adelaide Test after being penalised for India's slow over-rate in the third Test here at the WACA. India bowled 76 overs in 362 minutes, which was two overs short of the required rate.
  • Allowances were made for the ten wickets that fell and interruptions for movement behind the sight screen and injury time-outs, but India was still found short.
  • This was Dhoni's second such transgression as Indian captain. He had been on notice after India was found short in Barbados in June-July last year.
  • He pleaded guilty at the hearing with match referee Ranjan Madugalle and accepted the one-Test ban.
  • Dhoni was fined 40 per cent of his match fees, and the rest of the team was docked 20 per cent each.
