Centre has allocated additional food grains to Odisha, Assam and West Bengal at subsidized rates under the Targeted Public Distribution System.
According to an official release, Odisha has been made additional allocation of nearly 3,000 million tonnes of rice for distribution to over 17,000 above poverty line (APL) families of Kandhamal district.
West Bengal has been allocated one million tonnes of rice for the drought affected people in the State. Assam has also been allocated additional food grains at subsidized rates.
