• Jharkhand DGP G S Rath has said that Jan 21st massacre of 13 policemen by the Maoists in Garhwa has only strengthened the resolve of policemen further to fight and finish the left terrorism.
  • Mr. Rath was speaking to media at Garhwa where he said that cooperation from Chhattisgarh is being sought to nab the perpetrators of Saturday's killings as the area where the incident took place is near Jharkhand - Chhatisgarh border.
  • On Sunday tributes were paid at Garhwa policeline to those 13 policemen who were killed on Saturday by the Maoists through landmine blasts and then killing the injured from point blank range.
  • Two injured policemen were even burnt alive.
  • The bodies are now being sent to the respective native places of the dead ones.
  • The mood at the Police Head Quarter at Ranchi is that of greater resolve to punish the guilty and there is plan for hot pursuits of the involved Maoists, but the ordinary citizens of Jharkhand want to see those days when there is security and peace on the grounds.
