- Both the Houses of Parliament today congratulated the people of Goa and the Union Territory of Daman and Diu on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of their Independence. It was on 19th December 1961 the Indian Army launched Operation Vijay and liberated Goa, Daman and Diu from the shackles of Portuguese rule.
- Paying tributes to freedom fighters like Dr. T B d’Cunha, popularly known as the Father of the Goa Liberation Movement and the valiant martyrs and soldiers.
