• The Government has decided to develop 35 tourist cities in the next five years to attract more tourists in the country. 

  • Chairing the meeting of the National Tourism Advisory Council in New Delhi, Union Minister for Tourism Mr. Subodh Kant Sahai said tourist places would be developed through Public-Private Partnership.

  • The  Ministry had appointed a national-level consultant, which was in the process of identification of the four tourist circuits and two rural clusters in each state. He added that the tourist places would be developed in a phased manner.

  • The  Tourism Ministry has asked the Planning Commission for an allocation of about Rs 23 crore in the 12th Five Year Plan for this project
