- The Government has set up two tier self regulatory body to monitor television broadcast contents.
- Information and Broadcasting Minister Mrs. Ambika Soni said that 13-member body comprising of members of civil societies, broadcasters and members from Women Commission, Child Right Protection Commission and Minority Commission started functioning from June this year.
- The Cable Television Networks (Regulation) second Amendment Bill, 2011 in the House was introduced
