a.Kabul (Afghanistan) : The place made the headlines when a Taliban suicide bomber assassinated the former Afghan President Burhanuddin Rabbani on September 20, 2011. He was attacked at his Kabul residence, because he was leading government peace efforts through the Afghan High Peace Council.

b.Mangan (Sikkim) : The place hit the headlines due to being the most-badly-affected area of the earthquake which was felt in the most part of north India on September 9, 2011. Around 60 people were dead in Sikkim while many casualties were reported from Bhutan, Nepal, Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand on September 20, 2011. Mangan is 65 km from Gangtok, closest to 6.8-scale quake’s epicenter.
