Govt introduces Money Laundering Bill in Lok Sabha

<ul><li style="text-align: justify;"> The Government today presented three Bills in the Lok Sabha. The Prevention of Money Laundering (Amendment) Bill, 2011, presented by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, seeks to strengthen the relevant Act of 2002 by amending some of its provisions.

<li style="text-align: justify;"> The Electronic Delivery of Services Bill, 2011, was introduced by Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal. It seeks to provide for electronic delivery of public services by the Government to ensure transparency, efficiency, accountability, accessibility and reliability in the delivery of these services. 
 
</li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"> Another Bill, The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 2011, is meant to further amend the relevant legislation of 1950 to modify the list of Scheduled Tribes in Karnataka. It was introduced by Tribal Affairs and Panchayati Raj Minister V. Kishore Chandra Deo.

<li style="text-align: justify;"> Statistical Year Book India, 2012, published by the Central Statistics Office with the help of different ministries, gives important data on various facets of India like Gross Domestic Product, Gross Generation of Electricity, Railways, Industry and Agriculture. Devinfo India is an indicator based datatbase system developed by the Central Statistics Office in collaboration with the UNICEF. Its primary objective is to promote common accessibility of data and knowledge on the key development outcomes in India in order to enhance effective planning and monitoring of development activities. 
 
 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"> India’s Gross National Income at factor cost for the year 2010-11 is likely to be Rs. 72410.26 billion. The Statistical Year Book India, 2012, released in New Delhi today has given this advance estimate for the country’s Gross National Income for the year 2010-11.

<li style="text-align: justify;"> The first meeting of the Joint Working Group on nuclear and conventional CBMs since October 2007, began at the Foreign Office . 
 
 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"> Yashwant K Sinha, Joint Secretary in the External Affairs Ministry headed the Indian group on conventional CBMs. A senior general represented the Defence Ministry in the 10-member Indian delegation. 
 
 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"> A group led by D. Bala Verma, Director General (disarmament and international security affairs) will discuss nuclear CBMs. The Pakistani side at the talks is led by Additional Secretary Munawar Saeed Bhatti.

<div dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;" trbidi="on"><ul><li style="text-align: justify;"> China will introduce US style visa rules for foreigners, which included procedures like finger printing, to put in place biological identification data in order to "curb illegal entry" in the country to seek jobs.

<li style="text-align: justify;"> The draft law on entry and exit procedures, currently under consideration by China's legislature, National People's Congress, for the first time, allows the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to put in place a system to gather biological identification data, such as fingerprints, on foreign visitors. 
 
 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"> The draft also stipulates that foreigners should be fingerprinted by public security departments when they apply for a residential certificate 
 
 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"> All foreigners including the journalists have to under go health checks on arrival before getting resident visas and have to report to nearest police station within 24 hours. 
 
 </li>
<li style="text-align: justify;"> Till last year China stipulated foreigners to undergo mandatory AIDS tests before they arrive to seek resident permits. It was done away with following criticism that it discriminated people with HIV.
