The Indo-Russian duo of Sania Mirza and Elena Vesnina today stormed into the second round of the Women's Doubles event in the Australian Open Tennis tournament at Melbourne.
The sixth seeded Indo-Russian pair defeated the Russian-Greek combine of Alexandra Panova and Eleni Daniilidou in straight sets 6-0, 6-2, making to the next round.
Meanwhile, the Indian challenge yesterday stormed into the second round in the Men's Doubles category.
The Indian duo of Mahesh Bhupathi and Rohan Bopanna and the Indo-Czech combine of Leander Paes and Radek Stepanek registered easy victories in the opening round, to make it to the next stage.
