- The West Bengal Government will develop seven new districts for the improvement of health services in the state.
- These districts are Bankura, Bishnupur, South 24 Parganas, Diamond Harbour, North 24 Parganas, Basirhat, West Midnapur, Jhargram, Burdwan, Assansole, Birbhum, Rampurhat, East Midnapur and Nandigram.
- Apart from this in the state’s backward areas, 27 new super specialty hospitals will be constructed in 11 districts at a cost 2 thousand crore rupees.
