- Fifteen-year-old Jordan Romero's mother, Leigh Ann Drake, has confirmed her son called her after he reached the top of Mt Vinson Massif in Antarctica.
- The teen beat the record previously held by 16-year-old British climber George Atkinson.
- At age 10, Romero climbed Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa, and at age 13 he climbed Mt Everest in Asia.
