Union Minister for Corporate Affairs Mr. M. Veerappa Moily today asked private sector to come forward for corporate social responsibility, CSR.
The Minister said that Public Sector Companies are already providing 2 per cent of their profit towards CSR.
Addressing the 2nd National CSR Conclave in New Delhi, Mr. Moily said that the Planning Commission has mooted the idea of Public Sector Units setting up higher education hubs as part of their CSR.
The move will help the government in achieving its target of gross enrolment ratio in Higher education sector.
The Minister said his ministry has taken a number of initiatives in the legislative, regulatory, service delivery and capacity building.
